Bruce I’m sorry to hear about your Dad and also sorry for your brothers and sisters. I did not know im personally but by judging by you he was a great Dad and a strong family leader. Values, discipline and the sense of right and wrong are rooted in what our family displays and teaches. You Dad most have set a great example as your lives your life showing all three. I also think your strong sense of family must be rooted from your Dad as well. Time was cover the hurt but noting can cover the great memories and the the great things that will always be passed form Dads. I hope you will cherish yours and pass them on.

  6. A Poem From the Grandkids Allison Daria Sam and Lindsay says

    December 12, 2011 at 7:42 PM

    God saw you getting tired,
when a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around me,
    and whispered, “Come to me”.

You didn’t deserve what you went through,
    so He gave you rest.
    God’s Garden must be beautiful,
    He only takes the best.

    You always made us smile,

for a frown was never upon your face.
You had the spirit of a child,
and nothing compared to your warm embrace.

We will miss your sense of humor,
your goofy love for golf polo shirts,
the way you sang “Good Morning”,
and how you ensure we never hurt.

So when we saw you sleeping,
    peaceful and free from pain.
We could not wish you back,
    to suffer that again.

    We Love You Papa.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Borthwick family.

Although I had not seen Roger in several years, I will always think of his smile and his great laugh. When I was in the Safeguard office, it was always fun talking sports and final four tournaments.

He was all about giving, especially to his fine family. He is now serving the Lord with a loving smile. May God give you comfort and strength. Memories will always be with you and in time grief will be balanced with gratitude.
    God bless you
